(Akron) - The LeBron James Family Foundation helped host two events at The University of Akron’s InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field.

The night Began with the LeBron James Family Foundation’s third annual I PROMISE Family Reunion. A Foundation tradition that welcomed a brand new class of third graders into the Wheels for Education program. An initiative that provides Akron Public School students identified as needing additional academic support with the tools and mentors they need to stay in school.

The inductees were given bikes, helmets and uniform shirts for the upcoming school year, which they will receive upon the completion of the Foundation’s required learning enrichment camp.

The event also celebrated WFE’s first class of third graders, the class of 2021, as they graduate to middle school and join LeBron’s Akron I PROMISE network. Including the brand new class of inductees, the Wheels for Education program now serves nearly 800 Akron Public School children.

Following the I PROMISE Family Reunion, the focus shifted inside InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field for a special event presented by the LeBron James Family Foundation, the City of Akron, and The University of Akron, welcoming LeBron James home in a community-wide celebration.
