(Painesville) -  Chardon school leaders are being sued in the shootings two years ago that left three students dead. The lawsuit was filed in Lake County Common Pleas Court, under Judge Joseph Gibson.

Representing the families is Cleveland personal injury attorney Craig Bashein.

The defendants are the Chardon Local Schools, the Chardon board of Education, and several school administrators.

The lawsuit charges with the school district with failing to provide proper security, and not acknowledging the mental instability of shooter T.J. Lane, and the risk he posed to his fellow students.

A tragic development on the second anniversay of the shootings. Russell King, Sr. was found dead in his home early this morning.

King's son, Russell Jr., was one of three students killed when Lane opened fire in the Chardon High School cafeteria. Police don't believe foul play was involved, the Geauga County coroner is investigating.
