(Akron) — Two police officers in a patrol car and a minivan driver and his son have been injured in a pre-dawn, head-on collision in northeast Ohio.

Akron police spokesman Richard Edwards says none of the injuries are life-threatening. All four were taken to Akron hospitals.

Edwards says the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Friday when the driver of the van turned left in front of the cruiser.

The officers, including a rookie on the force 10 months, were responding to a burglary call.
