(Berea) - The Cleveland Browns have signed a local product to help fill the void with the broken left fibula of running back Dion Lewis.  

The team has announced it has signed rookie free agent running back Jamaine Cook from Youngstown State University.  

Cook prepped at Midpark High School in Berea.  He tallied more than 4,000 during his career at YSU along with 39 TD's.  

The Browns originally signed Cook as an undrafted free agent April 30 but released him May 21.  

The team waived DB Kenronte Walker was waived to make room for Cook on the roster.
