(CLEVELAND)— The Coast Guard rescued two people and two dogs from a 33-foot pleasure craft on the northeast side of Middle Bass Island in Lake Erie, after the vessel hit rocky bottom and began taking on water Sunday morning.

A 25-foot response boat from Coast Guard Station Marblehead, Ohio, established communication with the distressed vessel and issued an urgent marine information broadcast that advises mariners of a situation.

The coast guard crew arrived on scene within minutes and helped both the people and dogs aboard their vessel.

There were no reports of injuries.
