(Bedford) - Another local politician has admitted guilt to corruption in office.

Former Bedford Law Director Kenneth Schuman pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful interest in a public contract. Schuman's plea stems from accepting $9,500 from the Cleveland lawfirm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease in connection to a contract for bond work in 2006.

Schuman resigned from his position with Bedford in April of this year.

Other charges including bribery, money laundering, obstructing justice and theft were dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for September 3rd.
