(Summit County) - A person of interest has been arrested in the stabbing murder of Amanda Russell of Cuyahoga Falls.

The 40 year old mother was discovered dead outside her home on 8th Street. She was found in the backyard by her daughter who had returned home from school Thursday afternoon.

Cuyahoga Falls Police Chief Jack Davis said the arrest was made by Cleveland Metropark Rangers at Euclid Beach regarding an unrelated incident. So far there is no evidence against the subject, but Russell had sought a restraining order against him.

Davis told Newsradio WTAM 1100 that detectives do believe Russell knew her attacker.

The Summit County Medical Examiner has determined the cause of death to be multiple stab wounds to the neck and torso.

Davis is urging anyone with information about the case to call Cuyahoga Falls detectives at 330-928-2181.
