(Cleveland) – A 16-year-old Cleveland teen will be 46 when he’s eligible for parole.

Anthony Ruiz was sentenced Thursday for the February murder of 16-year-old Jennifer Zacarias. Ruiz got life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years.

Ruiz pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, assault, robbery and tampering with evidence in connection with the case.

Zacarias was shot several times in the backyard of her home on West 102nd Street on February 8. Ruiz was arrested that same day.

Police had said Zacarias and the suspect knew each other. She had been a junior at John Marshall High School.
