(Lorain County) - Elyria Police are searching for two suspects in the attempted abduction of an 11 year old girl.

Police Captain Chris Constantino says the incident happened Tuesday morning as the child waited for her school bus near the Hyde Point Apartments on West River Road North.

The girl told police at 6:50, a "Hyundai looking car" rolled up with two people inside. A woman got out of the passenger side of the red compact vehicle wearing a business suit, black shirt, and pink blouse with her hair wrapped in a bun.

Constantino tells Newsradio WTAM 1100, that the woman extended her arms and asked the girl for a hug and offered a ride to school. The girl ran away and hid behind a nearby shed.

Constantino says the woman continued to call for the girl, with a man getting out of the car, but quickly returning to the wheel and driving away. The child's bus shortly arrived and she ran onboard and told the bus driver.

However, Constantino says the driver did not contact police. The girl later told her parents.

Detectives believe the woman is about 5-feet 4-inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds. The other suspect is a slender white male, wearing a black hoodie with holes in his jeans.

Anyone with information should call the Elyria Police Department at 440-323-3302.
