Lake Take 1

Coming up this week in Cleveland, The Indians play a 4-game series against the Detroit Tigers starting tomorrow night, Cleveland Burger Week kicks off tomorrow, Blink 182 play Blossom on Tuesday night and the 78th Street Studios Third Friday Art Walk happens this week as well.

There’s a stage production called Welcome to Night Vale happening tonight. It’s a live performance of a twice-monthly Podcast that features community updates for a fictional town called Night Vale. It all goes down at 8 tonight at the Ohio Theater. Or you can go see Alice Cooper as he rolls into town tonight. He’s bringing his Ol’ Black Eyes Is Back tour to Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica tonight and the show starts at 8.

Monday July 15

Lake Take 1

The Indians start a 4-game series against the Detroit Tigers tonight at Progressive Field. First pitch is at 7:10. And Cleveland Burger Week kicks off today with over 20 restaurants including Flipside, The Rail, Bar Louis, The Thirsty Dog and more offering 5 dollar burgers all week long. And yes, there will be vegetarian options too.

Lake Take 2

Make plans later in the week to attend Edgewater Live down at Edgewater Beach. There will be live music from Disco Inferno, games, drinks, food and more starting at 4:30 and running through 9 Thursday Night. Or make plans to attend Euclid Beach Live. Much like Edgewater Live, this event happens Friday Night from 6-9 and features live music from Shout, local arts, food trucks and more down at Euclid Beach Park.

Tuesday July 16

Lake Take 1

Head out to Blossom and catch 90’s Pop-Punk act Blink 182 as they roll into town tonight. Rapper Lil Wayne will open the show and the music gets started at 7. Or if you want something a little more relaxed and intimate, hit The Happy Dog on Detroit Avenue as they host Classical Revolution Cleveland tonight. It’s a group of various musicians around Cleveland getting together to bring classical music into a bar setting. It’s free for all-ages and the music gets started at 8.

Lake Take 2

The Indians play the second of a 4-game series against the Detroit Tigers tonight at Progressive Field. First pitch is at 7:10. Or head out to U. S. Bank Plaza for Dancing Under The Stars. There will be swing dance lessons beginning at 6 with dancing continuing on till 9 tonight.

Wednesday July 17

Lake Take 1

Go cheer on our Tribe as they begin Game 3 of a 4-game series against The Detroit Tigers tonight at Progressive Field. First pitch is at 7:10. Or make a trek out to The Kent Stage to see Billy Bob Thornton. He’ll be playing with his band The Boxmasters, who have a Beatle-esque 60’s vibe, starting at 8 tonight.

Lake Take 2

Get out tonight and head to the Rock Hall for their Summer In The City concert series. It’s a 5-week event happening at the Rock Hall Plaza tonight at 7 with local act Soccer Mommy taking the stage. There will be a bar, an all-access café and food trucks as well. Or go pick up some fruits and veggies grown by local vendors at the North Union Farmers Market down at U.S. Bank Plaza. It goes from 4-7 today.

Thursday July 18

Lake Take 1

Go see the KeyBank Broadway Series’ latest musical called Come From Away. It centers on 7,000 stranded passengers who are welcomed by a small town called Gander. Cultures clash but soon evolve into trust and true friendships. It starts tonight at 7:30 with performances through the end of the month. Or head down to Edgewater beach for Edgewater Live. Expect live music, games, drinks, food and more starting at 4:30 and running through 9 tonight.

Lake Take 2

The Indians play the last of their 4-game series against The Detroit Tigers tonight at Progressive Field. First pitch is at 7:10. Or if you want to learn more about filmmaking, head over to Music Box Supper Club for their Film Café’ Series. Tonight’s guest is Richard Pike, a Cleveland-based stuntman and stunt coordinator, who will discuss just what it takes to be a stuntman in the movies. It starts at 7 tonight.

Friday July 19

Lake Take 1

Get out and cheer on our tribe tonight. They’re having a big week after a 4-game run against Detroit. Tonight they start a 3-game series against the Kansas City Royals. First pitch is at 7:10. Or headout to The Agora to catch 80’s Alternative act The Psychedelic Furs. They will be onstage tonight at 8.

Lake Take 2

Check out some of the best local art in town at the 78th street studios Third Friday Art Walk. Tour the more than 60 galleries which will open their doors from 5 to 9 tonight. Or head over to Severance Hall for Summers at Severance. Tonight, guitarist Pepe Romero will sit in with the Cleveland Orchestra and play selections from Rodrigo and Debussy. The music starts at 7.

Saturday July 20

Lake Take 1

Celebrate some of Cleveland’s rich Hispanic heritage by attending La Placita. It’s an open-air market happening at West 25th and Clark avenue. There will be live entertainment, lots of traditional Mexican food, artisan vendors and more. It goes from 1 to 10 today. Or if you’re a David Bowie fan, head over to the Beachland Ballroom tonight for a special tribute to the Iconic singer called BowieLIVE.The live act will cover the many decades of David Bowie’s career and the music gets started at 8:30 tonight.

Lake Take 2

If you feel like bringing the funk tonight, head over to the Rock Hall and catch George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic on what Clinton is calling his final tour. He’ll also be doing a Q&A before the show which starts at 5:30 with the music getting underway at 7. Or if you’re a fan and have knowledge of Broadway Musicals, then get on over to U.S. Bank Plaza at Playhouse Square for their Broadway Trivia. Teams can range from 1 to 8 players and this two hour event starts at 7 tonight.
