Coming up this week in Cleveland, Orchid Mania is in its last week at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, Walkabout Tremont happens on Friday, Wizard World Comic Con happens all weekend long and the St. Practice Day Bar Crawl happens in Downtown Willoughby on Saturday.

If you’re looking for some laughs tonight, go catch up-and-coming comedian John Crist tonight. He’s amassed over 150 million video views on Youtube and he brings his “The Human Being” Tour to the Connor Palace theater tonight at 7:30. Or head to the Rock Hall and catch “From The Vault: Queen Footage”. They’ll screen Queen’s 2001 Hall Of Fame uncut induction ceremony including the band’s introduction by The Foo Fighters. It runs all day from 11 to 5:30.

Monday March 4

Have you ever wanted to learn how to Tango? Then head to the 216 Tango Academy over on the East Side for “I Love Monday Night Tango”. Classes start at 7 and practice begins at 8:30 every Monday. Or catch a movie on the cheap tonight at a participating Cleveland Cinemas Theatre. They'll have $5 movie tickets and discounted concession items too.

Make your weekend plans for Wizard World Comic Con at the Huntington Convention Center this Friday thru Sunday. Fans of comics, gaming, toys, movies and more will find plenty to take in at this event. Or check out Walkabout Tremont on Friday. Take in some of the best restaurants and galleries in Tremont this Friday evening from 6-9. 

Tuesday March 5

Get out tonight and go see School Of Rock. Based on the Jack Black film, the hilarious stage production follows a wannabe rock star posing as a substitute teacher who turns his students into a guitar shredding rock band. It starts at 7:30 inside The Connor Palace Theater. Or make your Saturday plans now to get in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with Downtown Willoughby’s St. Practice Day Bar Crawl. 10 plus bars will take part in this day-long event happening from 10-6 this Saturday.

Lake Take 2

Go celebrate Fat Tuesday over at Western Reserve Distillers. They will be celebrating with theme cocktails, beads, King Cake and more starting at 3 today. Or go check out Turntable Tuesdays and an open mic night down at the Winchester Tavern in Lakewood. Bring your own vinyl to spin from 6 to 9 and then stick around to participate in or just watch their open mic night afterward.

Wednesday March 6

Lake Take 1

Get in the spring spirit and head to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens for the final week of their Orchid Mania exhibit. Over 3,000 orchids in all shapes and sizes will be on display today from 10 to 9. Or take in some live theater down at Playhouse Square with a local rendition of Agatha Christie’s Witness For The Prosecution. The Great Lakes Theater puts on the production inside the Hanna Theater tonight at 7:30.

Lake Take 2

Get some Cleveland history in tonight over at the Music Box Supper Club. They’ll host Cleveland Stories Dinner Parties featuring ex-Plain Dealer Michael D. Roberts. He’ll discusses the Biggest Cleveland News Stories of the 60’s and 70’s. Dinner is at 6 and the storytelling starts at 7 tonight. Or if you’re over in University Circle this evening, drop by the Cleveland Museum of Art for their Chamber Music In The Galleries event. It features mixed programs of chamber music and it’s free starting at 6.

Thursday March 7

Lake Take 1

Get out and see some live music tonight as rock band Lifehouse performs over at the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park. They go on tonight at 7:30. Or If you want to grab some laughs tonight, and a few beers, go down to Sachsenheim Hall for the New Big Beer Show, presented by Cleveland Comedy festival. It’s a night of adult humor featuring plenty of audience involvement and storytelling. It goes down tonight starting at 8:30.

Lake Take 2

The Cleveland Monsters begin a two-game series against the Belleville Senators tonight at the Quicken Loans Arena. The puck drops at 7 tonight and tomorrow night with ticket and concession specials for both games. Or you can catch comedian, actor and writer Josh Wolf down at Hilarities. He’s a regular on the show Chelsea Lately and has toured in the past with Larry The Cable Guy. He’ll be onstage tonight at 7. 

Friday March 8

Lake Take 1

Fans of comics, gaming, toys, movies and more unite as Wizard World Comic Con kicks off today at the Huntington Convention Center. It starts at 4 and goes all weekend long. Or go see magician and funnyman Michael Carbonaro over at the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park. He’s performed over 500 feats of magic on his TV show The Carbonaro Effect and he’ll be on stage tonight at 8.

Lake Take 2

Get some culture in tonight at Walkabout Tremont. The theme this time around is “The Art Of The Fish Fry”. You can check out fish fries throughout the neighborhood, featured art openings, live music and more tonight from 5-10. Or go see Flanagan’s Wake down at Playhouse Square. The interactive Irish production starts tonight at 8 inside the Kennedy Theater.

Saturday March 9

Lake Take 1

Take in a dance performance tonight with Vertigo Dance. They are one of Isreal’s most highly regarded contemporary dance companies and they perform tonight at 7:30 inside the Ohio Theater. Or you can head over to Lago in the East Bank of the Flats for Chocolate Fest. Loads of local chocolatiers will be sampling their goods from 4 – 8 this evening.

Get in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with Downtown Willoughby’s St. Practice Day Bar Crawl. 10 plus bars will take part in this day-long event starting at 10 this morning and going through 6 tonight. Or if you just can’t wait for Def Leppard to come back to town, heads to the Hard Rock Rocksino’s Club Velvet for the next best thing: Rock Of Ages - Def Leppard Tribute. They take the stage tonight at 8.
