The Secret Life Of Pets 2 Australian Premiere - Arrivals

Kevin Hart still can't believe he survived the major car accident in which he was involved earlier this month.

According to TMZ, the funnyman is home and receiving intensive physical therapy following his release from an inpatient rehab facility. Given the seriousness of the crash, sources told the celebrity gossip outlet he's "grateful" and "shocked" to be alive.

The latest health update on Hart's well-being comes after the comedian's 10-day stay in the hospital, where he was put under heavy pain medications after suffering significant damage to his back, including three spinal fractures that required fusion. Per the outlet, Hart's hired a physical therapist for at-home treatments and exercises, however, the actor is "still in a lot of pain" but is managing everything without the use of meds. Even with his injuries, Hart is expected to recover and bounce back to where he was before over time.

The terrifying experience has given the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle entertainer "a new perspective on life," an insider said, adding: "He really cherishes the fact that he's alive, and wants to make the most of it in every respect. The crash had a huge impact on him."

As fans know, Hart was involved in a car crash around 1 a.m. in the Malibu Hills district on September 1. Supposedly, the star's friend, Jared S. Black, was operating the his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda — in which his fiancé Rebecca Broxterman was also a passenger — when Black lost control of the vehicle on Mulholland Highway, crashed through a wooden fence and landed in a ditch about 10 feet off the side of the road.
