Kelly Clarkson Will Come Out Of Divorce A Stronger Person & With New Music

News of Kelly Clarkson's split from her husband of 7 years, Brandon Blackstock, made headlines earlier this month. While the news was surprising to many of Clarkson's devoted fans, Clarkson reportedly felt divorce was the only option for her and Blackstock. A source close to the singer believes that, despite the hardship to come, she will come out of this breakup stronger than ever.

"Kelly is a doer, a pusher, someone who forges ahead even when it's difficult for her. Being busy is a blessing and she knows that," the source told People. The insider also dished that Clarkson will channel her emotions from this trying time into new music. "Music builds her up even if her songs are confronting her troubles. Kelly will come out of this a stronger person."

Despite their split, Clarkson and Blackstock appear to have remained on good terms. Just last week, Clarkson was awarded her first Emmy for her talk show and thanked Blackstock on Twitter. "Brandon's confidence in her talent and his ability to push the right buttons for her has been great for her career," the source explained. "Kelly's excited, proud and grateful."

Clarkson and Blackstock are both "heartbroken" about the divorce, according to an Entertainment Tonight source. While this is a challenging time for the former couple, "their plan is to put the kids first. Their focus is on co-parenting and moving forward, as this is the last place they ever thought they would be. They both understand divorce is never easy for children, but Kelly and Brandon are great parents. It'll just take time."
