Cher is living proof of believing in life after love, and soon, we'll have all the details.
The iconic songstress announced the creation of a two-part memoir, that, according to HarperCollins Publishers, "finally reveals her true story in intimate detail." The 78-year-old super star, who has continually fought to "live her life on her own terms" over the last seven decades, is gifting fans the opportunity to read between the lines after all these years; a story that began long before her rise to fame.
Cher: The Memoir, Part One and Part Two invites the world into the mind of Cher, childhood reflections, relationship woes, struggles, successes, and "uncomfortable" truths the public has yet to learn, per Page Six.
Cher is finally ready to bare her soul to the world (480 pages at a time), although it took her awhile to get to this point. The "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves" trailblazer first teased the memoir on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2017, stating that she needed to "man up" before unleashing her deepest thoughts and secrets for everyone to read.
“I didn’t put in some things that needed to be in, and they’re not comfortable, but they need to be in, so I have to go back and man up."
She continued, joking that she simply could not fit her entire life into one book.
“I’ve lived too long and done too much, and so it’s like it should be the encyclopedia."
And thus, the two-part memoir was born! Part one of the GRAMMY-winning hitmakers official memoir is slated for release on November 19, 2024, with part two out in 2025.
