This week in Cleveland, there are Martin Luther King Jr. celebrations at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, Rock Hall & CMA tomorrow, The Cleveland Monsters take on the Chicago Wolves on Thursday, Cleveland Winter Beerfest happens on Friday and The International Motorcycle Show happens at the I-X center next weekend.

If you’re a fan of country legend George Jones, head down to the Peninsula G.A.R. Hall for a George Jones night. A whole host of local musicians pay tribute to the Country Superstar with songs performed by Gorge Jones and songs inspired by him. It starts at 7 tonight. Or catch funny girl Erica Rhodes as she takes the stage at Hilarities tonight. She’s been on ABC’s Modern Family and has also performed on Last Call With Carson Daly. She performs tonight at 7.

Monday

Lake Take 1

There are Martin Luther King Celebrations happening in 3 places today. The Rock Hall is offering free admission today with celebrations honoring the Civil Rights Activist, the Cleveland Aquarium is teaming up with the United Black Fund of Greater Cleveland Inc. for a day of educational activities and the Cleveland Museum of Art is holding celebrations today from 10-4 with special programs honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy.

Lake Take 2

There’s a special one-day only screening of the Peter Jackson film “They Shall Not Grow Old” happening today. It’s a World War 1 documentary featuring selections from over 600 hours of archive war footage painstakingly restored and colorized. Show times are at 1 and 7 today at Chagrin Cinemas. Or make plans for Wednesday to see Stand up Science With Shane Mauss. Local comedians and scientists join Shane at Hilarities Wednesday night at 7:30 for a comedy show unlike any other.

Tuesday

Lake Take 1

Catch a different kind of comedy act tonight. It’s called Tinder Live with Lane Moore. Comedian Lane Moore goes on the popular dating app and interacts with Tinder matches in real time. It all goes down at 8:30 tonight at the Grog Shop. Or if you want a taste of the tropics in the middle of winter, head down to Tim’s Tiki Tuesday at the Western Reserve Distillers. If you’re a fan of Rum and tropical drinks, this event is for you. It goes from 5:30 to 10 tonight.

Lake Take 2

Get out and catch An Illiad down at the Outcalt Theater. It’s a stage adaptation of the timeless epic story about the Trojan War. It starts at 7 tonight. If you can head to the Cleveland Museum Of Art to see a Georgia O’Keeffe documentary film. The film represents the only time the famous artist ever allowed a filmmaker into her studio. It screens at 7 tonight.

Wednesday

Lake Take 1

Or go see Stand up Science With Shane Mauss. Find out what Comedy and Science have in common as local comedians and scientists join Shane at Hilarities tonight at 7:30 for a comedy show unlike any other. Or head down to Forest City Brewery over in Duck Island for Share-Apy Beginnings. It’s a comedy and variety show on how to stick to those New Year’s Resolutions you may or may not have made. It goes from 8 to 9:30 tonight.

It’s that time of the week again for Cleveland Stories Dinner Parties. Enjoy dinner while former Plain Dealer sportswriter Dan Coughlin reflects on some of the most outlandish people he’s known in the sports arena. Doors are at 5 and the storytelling happens at 7. Or you can head to the Cleveland Museum Of Art for their Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit called Living Modern. Check out this iconic American artist’s works from 10 to 9 today. The exhibit runs through March 3rd.

Thursday

Lake Take 1

Grab some laughs tonight with comedian Erik Griffin down at Hilarites. He’s been on the Comedy Central series Workaholics and can currently be seen on the Showtime series “I’m Dying Up Here”. He’ll hit the stage at 8 tonight with shows through the weekend. Or you can make your weekend plans now to check out the Cleveland Motorcycle Show down at the I-X Center. Everything you ever wanted to know about Motorcycles and more will be on display all weekend long beginning tomorrow at 3pm.

Go cheer on our Cleveland Monsters as they take on the Chicago Wolves tonight at the Quicken Loans Arena. The puck drops tonight at 7. Or if you’re really into Pizza, you can check out the Parma Area Pizza Bake Off over at German Central. There will be plenty of pizza to sample from local ovens, live music and a raffle with proceeds benefitting the Parma Hunger Center. It goes from 5:30 – 8:30 tonight.

Friday

Lake Take 1

Are you a fan of beer? If so, then Cleveland Winter Beerfest is for you! There will over 120 breweries sampling beer down at the Huntington Convention Center downtown. The event happens tonight and tomorrow night starting at 8. Or you can go support The Cavs as they play Miami Heat at the Quicken Loans Arena. Tipoff is at 7:30 tonight.

Lake Take 2

There’s a Beer & Wine tasting going on at Rozi’s Wine House. There will be 8 beers on tap and 10-12 wines to sample with a chef on hand to pair food with the wine. It goes from 6 – 8 tonight. Or if you want to hear some Rolling Stones music live, without the huge ticket prices, head down to Music Box Supper Club for Classic Stones Live. The tribute act will take the stage at 8 tonight.

Saturday

Catch Italian funnyman Sebastian Maniscalco down at Playhouse Square tonight. People magazine calls him “The People’s Comedian” and Sebastian brings his “Stay Hungry” tour to Connor Palace theater for two shows tonight: one at 7 and the other at 9:30. Or you can check out day 2 of Cleveland Winter Beerfest. There will over 120 breweries sampling beer down at the Huntington Convention Center downtown. The event happens tonight starting at 8

Are you getting married or know someone who is? Then head to the I-X Center for Today’s Bride Wedding Show. Dubbed as The Biggest Bridal Show in Ohio, there will be over 250 vendors displaying all things wedding related. It goes from noon to 7 today. Or go check out a stage production of Goodbye Charlie. It’s the story of a womanizer who gets reincarnated as a woman. It happens at the Chagrin Valley Little Theater tonight at 8.
