Catch indie rock band Of Montreal as the roll into town at the Beachland Ballroom. The show starts at 8 tonight. Or catch a movie on the cheap at a participating Cleveland Cinemas Theatre today. They'll have $5 movie tickets and discounted concession items too.

Make your weekend plans now to catch the Indians on Friday night as they play The Atlanta Braves over at Progressive Field. First pitch is at 7:10. Or check out some of the best local art in town at the 78th street studios Third Friday Art Walk. Tour the more than 60 galleries which will open their doors from 5 to 9 on Friday night.

The Happy Dog on Detroit Avenue hosts Classical Revolution Cleveland tonight. It’s a group of various musicians around Cleveland getting together to bring classical music into a bar setting. It’s free for all-ages and the music gets started at 8. Or make your Saturday plans now to catch The 10th Annual Alan Cox Comedy Tour over at the Masonic Auditorium. Alan Cox, from The Alan Cox show on our sister station WMMS, will host the event featuring local comedians Bill Squire, Mary Santora and others. It happens at 8 o’clock Saturday night.

If you’re looking to get out tonight, head over to the Winchester Music Tavern in Lakewood for their Open Turntable Tuesdays & Open Mic Night. Bring your own vinyl for them to spin from 6-9 and if you are musically inclined, participate in their Open Mic night happening after 9. Or go check out The Cleveland Botanical Garden’s Amazing Butterflies exhibit. It includes a Butterfly Zip Line, a climbable spider web, educational games and more. It goes from 10 to 5 today and happens all the way through the end of April.

Wednesday April 17

Lake Take 1

It’s the last week to catch Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom Of The Opera down at Playhouse Square. The touring production will be here through Saturday night. Showtime is at 7:30 tonight inside the KeyBank State Theater. Or catch a free exhibit down at the Cleveland Museum Of Art called Gordon Parks: The New Tide, Early Work 1940 to 1950. It features a multitude of photos depicting American life in the twentieth century. It runs from 10 to 9 today.

Lake Take 2

Go check out Cleveland Stories Dinner Parties over at the Music Box Supper Club. Tonight’s stories come in the form of live re-enactments of Cleveland legends John D. Rockefeller and Alan Freed. Learn more about these two colorful characters tonight starting at 7. Or head to the Rock Hall for a screening of Horn From The Heart: The Paul Butterfield Story. The film examines the life of blues musician Paul Butterfield and it screens tonight at 7.

Thursday April 18

Lake Take 1

Check out a stage production called The Velocity Of Autumn. It’s a comedy/drama about an 80 year old woman in a showdown with her family on where to spend her golden years. It happens at 7:30 tonight at the Karamu House on the East side. Or you can take the family to the IX Indoor Amusement Park. Get your fix of rides and fair food today from 10 to 9. It runs through next Monday.

If you’re a Star Wars fan and looking for something more on the adult side tonight, go check out The Empire Strips Back: A Burlesque Parody. It’s exactly as it sounds and will take place at the Masonic Auditorium tonight starting at 7. Or catch comedian Big Jay Oakerson over at Hilarities tonight. The edgy comic has had his own shows on Comedy Central and Netflix and is on no less than 3 different weekly podcasts. He’ll take the stage at 7 tonight.

If you’re up for a road trip tonight, head out to the Kent American Roots Music Festival. It’s over 20 bands playing Americana, Bluegrass and Country music across more than 20 different venues. The music starts at 5 today and goes to 1am. Or you can check out some of the best local art in town at the 78th street studios Third Friday Art Walk. Tour the more than 60 galleries which will open their doors from 5 to 9 tonight.

The Cleveland Indians go up against the Atlanta Braves down at Progressive Field tonight. First pitch is at 7:10. Or if you never got to see The Talking Heads live, you can get the next best thing down at the Agora. Start Making Sense, A Talking Heads Tribute will be recreating the band’s catalog and stage show tonight at 8.

Saturday April 20

Grab some laughs at The 10th Annual Alan Cox Comedy Tour over at the Masonic Auditorium. Alan Cox, from The Alan Cox Show on our sister station WMMS, will host the event featuring local comedians Bill Squire, Mary Santora and others. It happens at 8 tonight. Or if you’re looking for something to take the family to The Geauga Lyric Theater is putting on a stage production of Shrek, The Musical. It happens tonight at 7:30.

Lake Take 2

If you’re a fan of The Beatles and more specifically The White Album, then head to The Beachland Ballroom. The George Martins will take the stage at 8 tonight and pay tribute to The Fab Four’s most adventurous double album. Or you can check out a new multi-week series happening at the Cleveland Public Theater called Test Flight 2019. This series showcases new plays that are still in production. Local and National artists will take part in this risk-taking project starting tonight at 7.
