Lake Take 1

Coming up this week in Cleveland, it’s final two days to catch the IX Indoor Amusement Park, Dyngus Day Celebrations happen all day tomorrow, The Indians take on Miami Marlins on Tuesday and The Spring Food Truck Round Up for Hunger happens in Crocker Park on Saturday.

Lake Take 2

Check out a stage production called The Velocity Of Autumn. It’s a comedy/drama about an 80 year old woman in a showdown with her family on where to spend her golden years. It happens at 3 today at the Karamu House on the East side. Or go check out The Cleveland Botanical Garden’s Amazing Butterflies exhibit. It includes a Butterfly Zip Line, a climbable spider web, educational games and more. It goes from 10 to 5 today and happens all the way through the end of the month.

Monday April 22

Lake Take 1

Head out for Dyngus Day in Ohio City, Gordon Square, and Tremont. Festivities begin at 10am today including a Miss Dyngus Pageant, an accordion parade at 6 this evening, loads of food and drink vendors and more. It goes till 9:30 tonight. And it’s the last day to check out the IX Indoor Amusement Park. Get your fix of rides and fair food today from 10 to 9.

If you feel like getting out tonight, go see the Skatch Anderssen Big Band at Brothers Lounge tonight. The music and dancing starts at 8. Or make your weekend plans now to go check out the Spring Food Truck Roundup for Hunger in Crocker Park. The city’s leading food trucks will come together to benefit The Hunger Network Of Greater Cleveland from 11-4 this Saturday.

Tuesday April 23

Lake Take 1

Check out a new musical down at Playhouse Square tonight called A Bronx Tale. Co-directed by Robert De Niro, it tells the story of young boy from the Bronx who dreams of becoming a mob boss. It starts at 7:30 tonight at the Connor Palace Theater. Or you can head down to the Strongsville Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library for a presentation on what life was like on the homefront during the World War Two. It’s part of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day and it happens at 7 tonight.

Cheer on our Tribe as they take on the Miami Marlins tonight at Progressive Field. First pitch is at 6:10 and there’s another game tomorrow afternoon at 1:10. Or go check out The Cleveland Botanical Garden’s Amazing Butterflies exhibit. It includes a Butterfly Zip Line, a climbable spider web, educational games and more. Wednesday April 24

If you’re looking for something to do after work today, go to Western Reserve Distillers in Lakewood for Oaxaca Wednesday. They’ll celebrate the spirit of Oaxaca with a mix different cocktails and flights including Mezcal and Tequila. It goes from 5:30 to 10 tonight. Or if you’re looking for some laughs, head to the Winchester Tavern for Accidental Comedy Presents “Modern Kicks Comedy”. It’s a great chance to catch local humor from newbies, old pro’s and everything in between. It starts at 8:30 tonight.

Check out Cleveland Stories Dinner Parties tonight, especially if you’re a Superman Fan. There will be a discussion on Superman’s historical, social and cultural significance starting tonight at 7. Or you can catch a special one-time only screening of the classic film The Silence Of The Lambs tonight at the Capitol Theater. It starts at 7 with a pre-screening cocktail party beginning at 6.

Thursday April 25

Lake Take 1

Take in some classical music tonight with The Cleveland Orchestra down at Severance Hall. Tonight’s performance will be a piano-led interpretation of Debussy and Scriabin and it starts tonight at 7:30. Or you can show just how “Cleveland” you really are over at The Forest City Brewery. They have an event tonight called Pop Cleveland, which is part sketch comedy and part trivia and it runs from 8 to 10 tonight.

Lake Take 2

Get some laughs tonight down at Hilaries with comic Bob Marley. No, he doesn’t play reggae, but he does tell loads of jokes from toilet humor to the agonies of waiting for pizza. He’s onstage tonight at 7. Or if it’s classic 80’s metal you want, make a road trip to Canton to see Tesla on their Tesla Shock USA Tour. They go on stage tonight at 7:30 inside the Canton Palace Theater.

Friday April 26

Lake Take 1

If you’re a fan of dance, go check out the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater tonight. Celebrating its 60th Anniversary, this dance company continues to push dance into new territories. It goes down tonight at 8 inside the KeyBank State Theater. Or you can head to the Agora to catch Buckethead. This multi-instrumentalist and guitar virtuoso formerly was a member of Guns “n” Roses and is known for taking on different genres from Blues to Metal to Funk to Jazz. He’ll take the stage at 8 tonight.

Catch pop singer Elle King tonight down at the Masonic Auditorium. The “ex’s and oh’s” singer will be onstage tonight at 9. Or you can check out a new musical at Playhouse Square called 42nd Street. It follows a small-town girl with dreams of starring on Broadway. It happens tonight at 7:30 inside The Ohio Theater.

Saturday April 27

Lake Take 1

The 11th annual GroundWorks Dance Theater benefit, It Takes Two, happens tonight. It features local celebrities partnering with the GroundWorks Dance Company for a “Dancing With The Stars” style competition. It happens tonight at 8 at the Cleveland Museum Of Art. Or you can head to the Masonic Auditorium to see Wish You Were Here, The Sight & Sound Of Pink Floyd. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of “The Wall”, it promises to be a multi-media production recreating Pink Floyd’s Iconic concerts. It happens tonight at 8.

If you’re hungry, go check out the Spring Food Truck Roundup for Hunger in Crocker Park. The city’s leading food trucks will come together to benefit The Hunger Network Of Greater Cleveland today from 11 to 4. Or you can head to the Chagrin Falls Antiques Show And Sale. Loads of 19th and 20th century antiques and collectibles will be on display and for sale today from 10 to 4 at the Family Life Center in Chagrin Falls.
