Ariel Winter is well known as the raven-haired actress who portrays "Alex Dunphy" on the hit ABC series Modern Family, however, she just posted a pair of photos to her Instagram page that might take her followers a minute to realize they are of her. The 21-year-old star dyed her dark locks a flaming red. Resembling her namesake from the Disney film The Little Mermaid, in the pics Ariel looks stunning in a lace-up black bodysuit and jeans. She is clearly aware of the resemblance to the mermaid since she captioned the photo with the mermaid emoji and wrote "part of yourrrrrr worrrrrld," referencing the song in the film.
Her fans had a lot to say about the post. Comments included things like, "Who is this? Wait I'm so confused. Is this you?" and "Oh my gosh is this real?" Everyone was impressed with Ariel's new look, calling it "bold" and "amazing."
Ariel's actually been changing how she looks for the past few months by dropping a few pounds. In January, she clapped back at a troll who accused her of using pills to lose weight. She later explained that her weight loss came from a change in antidepressants, stating, "For years I had been on antidepressants that caused me to gain weight that I couldn’t lose no matter what I did... The change in medication instantly made me drop all of the weight I couldn’t lose before by just giving me back a metabolism. That was very unexpected."
