Coming up this week in Cleveland, The Cuyahoga County Fair gets underway on Tuesday, Disney’s The Lion King happens at the State Theater on Wednesday, The Browns play their first pre-game of the season against The Redskins on Thursday and Flat Out Friday also happens this week.

It’s a great night to be a rock fan in Cleveland. You could head out to Blossom to see Heart on their Love Alive Tour. Joan Jett will open the show and it starts tonight at 7. Or you could go to House Of Blues to see ex-Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley. That show starts tonight at 7.

Monday Aug. 5

Lake Take 1

If you’re looking for some comedy tonight, head over to Great Lakes Brewing Company. Bill Squire, from our sister station WMMS, will be on hand for Craft Laughs. It’s a weekly stand-up event showcasing upcoming local comedians. It all goes down starting at 8. Or make your weekend plans now to hit Flat Out Friday over at the East Bank of The Flats. There will be live music from The Spazmatics and other outdoor entertainment from 6-11 Friday night.

Last Call Trivia is doing Lunchtime Trivia at U. S. Bank Plaza from 12:30-1:30 this afternoon. Teams can range from 1 to 8 players and prizes are given out at the end of the event. Or make your lunch plans to hit Truck Stop Tuesday over at Crocker Park. Some of Cleveland’s best local food trucks will be doling out the goods from 11 to 2 tomorrow.

Tuesday Aug. 6

Lake Take 1

The Cuyahoga County Fair kicks off today over at the Cuyahoga County Fairground Berea. Expect rides, games, fair food, live music and more from noon to 11 today and running through Sunday. Or you could head out to U. S. Bank Plaza for Dancing Under The Stars. There will be swing dance lessons beginning at 6 with dancing continuing on till 9 tonight.

Cheer on our Tribe as they go up against the Texas Rangers tonight at Progressive Field. First pitch is at 7:10. Or make your Thursday plans now to catch The Browns first pre-game of the season against the Washington Redskins. Kickoff is at 7:30 over at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Wednesday Aug. 7

Lake Take 1

Disney’s The Lion King makes a stop in Cleveland for the month of August and the first show is tonight. The curtain drops at 7:30 inside the KeyBank State Theater. Or if you’re a classic rock fan, head over to The Capitol Theater as they screen Jimi Hendrix: Electric Church. The film catches the legendary guitarist as he performs at the 1970 Atlanta Pop Festival. Showtime is at 7:30.

Get out tonight and head to the Rock Hall for their Summer In The City concert series. It’s a 5-week event happening at the Rock Hall Plaza tonight at 7 with indie act Sunflower Bean taking the stage. There will be a bar, an all-access café and food trucks as well. Or get some local entertainment over at The Happy Dog tonight with their event, Keep Talking: A Storytelling Show. This event features local people telling stories of crazy events in their lives. Sounds random? It is. Find out what it’s all about tonight starting at 7:30.

Thursday Aug. 8

Lake Take 1

The Browns play their first pre-game of the season against the Washington Redskins tonight at FirstEnergy Stadium. Limited tickets are still available and kickoff is at 7:30. And you have just a few days left to check out the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo for their Asian Lantern Festival. View the more than 40 all-new lantern displays along with live music happening from 6:30 to 10 tonight.

If you’re looking for some laughs tonight then go see comedian Drew Lynch over at Hilarities. The comic is a true success story overcoming a debilitating stutter to having a successful youtube channel and guesting on shows like Late Night With Conan O’Brien and America’s Got Talent. He’ll be onstage tonight at 7.Or get out to Blossom to see Peter Frampton on his final tour. Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening will open the show starting at 7:30.  

Friday Aug. 9

Lake Take 1

Get out to Flat Out Friday over at the East Bank of The Flats. There will be live music from The Spazmatics and other outdoor entertainment from 6-11 tonight. Or you can hit Walkabout Tremont. The theme this month is Let’s Luau and it features a Hawaiian Shirt Contest no less. You can also check out some of the best Tremont restaurants, featured art openings, live music and more tonight from 5-10.

Head out to the 9 hotel tonight for their Azure Rooftop Lounge Tequila Tasting event. There will be up to 10 different tequilas on hand for tasting, food, custom tasting glasses and more tonight from 6 to 9. Or if you’re a country fan, get out to Blossom to see Jason Aldean on his Ride All Night Tour. He’ll have up and coming opening acts Kane Brown and more starting at 7:30 tonight.

Saturday Aug. 10

The Cuyahoga County Fair continues over at the Cuyahoga County Fairground Berea. Expect rides, games, fair food, live music and more from noon to 11 today and running through tomorrow. Or get out to The Westlake Music Festival. It’s a family-friendly event with food, drinks and continuous live music from 2 – 8 today over at the Public Porter Library. The event is free of charge.

Lake Take 2

Get out and do some dancing over at U.S. Bank Plaza for their Silent Disco Dance Party. Choose from 3 channels of classic and current Electronic Dance Music while wearing headphones tonight from 9 to midnight. Or head over to Coventry Market over at the P.E.A.C.E. Campus in Cleveland Heights. Shop unique local vendors from 10 to 6 today.
