Lake Take 1

Coming up this week in Cleveland, Disney’s The Lion King continues its run down at Playhouse Square, The Browns play their final Pre-Season game against Detroit on Thursday, Cleveland Oktoberfest starts on Friday and The Cleveland National Air Show is on Saturday.

Lake Take 2

Go check out the Cleveland Garlic Festival. It’s a fundraiser for the North Union Farmer’s Markets and features live music, plenty of drink options, food competitions and loads of vendors selling endless varieties of garlic foods. It goes from noon to 6 today. Or go hit One World Day down at the Cleveland Cultural Gardens. It’s a celebration of different cultures around the world and there will be live entertainment, activities for the kids and plenty of food and drink. It runs from 11 to 6 today.

Monday August 26

Lake Take 1

Or if you’re in the mood for some roots music, get out to the Beachland Ballroom for their Bluegrass Jam. It’s a free show open to all levels of experience and it starts at 7:30 tonight. Or make plans now to catch The Browns final pre-season game down at First Energy Stadium this Thursday. They’ll take on the Detroit Tigers and kickoff is at 7:30.

Catch the final day of Lunchtime Trivia over at U. S. Bank Plaza from 12:30-1:30 this afternoon. Presented by Last Call Trivia, teams can range from 1 to 8 players and prizes are given out at the end of the event. Or if you’re looking for some comedy tonight, head over to Great Lakes Brewing Company. Bill Squire, from our sister station WMMS, will be on hand for Craft Laughs. It’s a weekly stand-up event showcasing upcoming local comedians. It all goes down starting at 8.

Tuesday August 27

Lake Take 1

Get down to U.S. Bank Plaza for the final installment of Dancing Under The Stars. There will be swing dance lessons beginning at 6 with dancing continuing on till 9 tonight. Or head over to the Winchester Music Tavern in Lakewood for their Open Turntable Tuesdays & Open Mic Night. Bring your own vinyl for them to spin from 6-9 and if you are musically inclined, participate in their Open Mic night happening after 9.

Looking to get some clutter out of your house? Then get over to the Nordonia Hills Public Library tonight for a Q&A from Professional Organizer, Saundra Wright. She’ll answer questions and provide tips on reclaiming your living space. It happens from 6:30 to 8 tonight. Or catch a stage production of Disney’s The Lion King at Playhouse Square. The curtain drops at 7:30 inside the KeyBank State Theater.

Wednesday August 28

Go catch the classic Marlon Brando film A Streetcar Named Desire on the big screen tonight down at the Capitol Theater. They will have appetizers and drinks starting at 6 and the movie starts at 7. And it’s that time of year for Cleveland Oktoberfest at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds! The German tradition with food, beer, music, and dancing will start Friday from 4 to midnight and run all weekend long.

Or go pick up some fruits and veggies grown by local vendors at the North Union Farmers Market down at U.S. Bank Plaza. It goes from 4-7 today. Or try something different tonight and go to Alpaca Yoga down at Vintage Alpacas over in Brooklyn Heights. Get some rest and relaxation in amongst the Alpacas from 6:30 – 8:30 tonight.

Thursday August 29

Lake Take 1

Head out to First Energy Stadium tonight as the Cleveland Browns play their final pre-season game against the Detroit Lions. Kickoff is at 7:30. Or if your into Pink Floyd, then head over to the MGM Rocksino tonight for the Australian Pink Floyd. The critically-acclaimed tribute act play note-for-note renditions of classic Floyd tracks and have a killer light show too. They hit the stage at 7:30 tonight.

Lake Take 2

Get in some laughs tonight with comedian Dave Landau over at Hilarities. The Detroit native finds jokes where most people find tears. He’s been all over Comedy Central and Last Comic Standing and he’ll take the stage tonight at 7. Or you can get laughs of a different kind over at the Beachland Ballroom as Mac Sabbath perform there tonight. They dress up like McDonalds characters and do Black Sabbath parodies. Yep, we’re not making this up. Find out what it’s all about as they hit the stage tonight at 8:30.

Friday August 30

Lake Take 1

It’s that time of year for Cleveland Oktoberfest at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds! The German tradition with food, beer, music, and dancing starts today from 4 to midnight and runs all weekend long. Or head down to the E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron and catch the Tex-Mex rock outfit Los Lobos. They’ve been mixing contemporary rock music with a south-of-the-border flair for 4 decades now and they hit the stage at 8 tonight.

Lake Take 2

Go hit Night Market Cleveland over in Asia town. Expect plenty of food, local vendors, live music and more from 5 to 11 tonight. Or get down to Ohio City for the St. Rocco Festival. The 105th annual event will have plenty of Italian cuisine, casino games, carnival rides and more from 5 to 11:30 tonight and going all weekend long.

Saturday August 31

Lake Take 1

Stop out to the 2019 Cleveland National Air Show at Burke Lakefront Airport! The Labor Day Weekend-long event will feature close formation aerobatics and stunts starting today at 9am with flying time from 10:30 to 4:30! Or get out to Cleveland Oktoberfest down at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds! The German tradition with food, beer, music, and dancing starts today from noon to midnight and runs through Labor Day.

Lake Take 2

Get out and do some dancing over at U.S. Bank Plaza for their Silent Disco Dance Party. The theme tonight is Adult Prom. Choose from 3 channels of classic and current power ballads and line dances while wearing headphones tonight from 9 to midnight. Or get some laughs in tonight with comedian Christopher Titus over at Hilarities. He’s been labelled as “hard funny” and has no less than 6 one-hour specials running on Comedy Central. He’ll do two shows tonight: one at 7 and another at 9:30.
