Lake Take 1

Coming up this week in Cleveland, The Cavs play the Celtics on Tuesday night down at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, comic George Lopez is at Hilarities on Thursday night, Boo At The Zoo happens Friday night and Cleveland Beer Week begins on Saturday.

Lake Take 2

The Browns take on the Seattle Seahawks today down at First Energy Stadium. Tickets are still available for today 1 o’clock game so go cheer ‘em on. Our team could use it. Or you could go see Toto down at MGM Northfield Park. It’s a pretty safe bet they’ll play “Africa” along with their dozen or so other hits tonight starting at 7:30. 

Monday October 14

Lake Take 1

If you’re into RuPaul’s Drag Race, get over to The Agora Theater. The contestants in the show’s 11th season will be working the runway tonight starting at 8. Or you can go to the Beachland Tavern to catch former America’s Got Talent contestant Cas Haley. The singer-songwriter from Texas incorporates Reggae into his sound and he’ll be hitting the stage tonight at 8:30.

Lake Take 2

Take in some Classical music tonight as members of The Cleveland Orchestra perform various Hungarian pieces as part of the Rocky River Music Society Concert series. The performance starts at 7:30 tonight at the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church. Or head to the Cleveland Public Theater to see Rastus And Hattie. It’s a comedic look at relationships across racial lines from the past, present and future. The curtain drops at 7:30 tonight.

Tuesday October 15

Lake Take 1

Go cheer on the Cavs tonight as they play their final Pre-Season game against the Boston Celtics. Tipoff is at 7. Or hit The Happy Dog on Detroit Avenue as they host Classical Revolution Cleveland tonight. It’s a group of various musicians around Cleveland getting together to bring classical music into a bar setting. It’s free for all-ages and the music gets started at 8.

Lake Take 2

Head down to Playhouse Square to catch Summer – The Donna Summer Musical. It charts the singer’s rise from her Boston roots to become one of the biggest chart topping singers of the 20th Century. The curtain drops at 7:30 tonight inside the Connor Palace Theater. Or get ready for Cleveland Beer Week which starts this weekend. Saturday’s inaugural events include The Pumking Prowl in downtown’s Gateway Neighborhood and Oysterfest in Lakewood. 

Wednesday October 16

Lake Take 1

Go see a live stage production of Shakespeare’s classic play Julius Caesar down at Playhouse Square. Presented by Great Lakes Theater, the politically-charged drama starts tonight at 7:30 inside the Hanna Theater. Or if you’re into the classic hard rock band Deep Purple, they’re playing tonight over at MGM Northfield Park. It’s the Cleveland-area stop on their “Long Goodbye” tour and the show starts at 7:30.

Lake Take 2

Head over to Music Box Supper Club for Cleveland Stories Dinner Parties. Tonight’s speaker will be WKYC & NBCSN sports analyst Mary Kay Cabot. She’ll discuss the strategies and mission of the 2019 Cleveland Browns. The storytelling begins at 7 tonight. Or if you’re a fan of the classic 1979 sci-fi horror film Alien, then get over to the Capitol Theater tonight. They’re showing a behind-the-scenes documentary called Memory: The Origins Of Alien. Find out all about how the film was made tonight starting at 7:30. 

Thursday October 17

Lake Take 1

If you’re looking for laughs, then head down to Hilarities as George Lopez makes a one night only appearance here in Cleveland. There’s two shows: one at 7 and another at 9:30. Or you can go to Severance Hall and check out The Cleveland Orchestra. They’ll take on Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony and the show starts at 7:30 tonight.

Lake Take 2

Get a little film education in tonight at the Music Box Supper Club as they host Film Café. John Ewing, the Director at the Cleveland Institute Of Art’s Cinematheque, will be tonight’s guest and he’ll discuss the secrets of Specialty Films. There will also be screenings of short films by local directors and networking as well. It starts at 7. Or you can get in the Fall spirit and bring the family to Pumpkin Pandemonium at Heritage Farms Peninsula. There’s a Harvest Maze, scavenger hunt, hayrides and more today from 2-6. Can’t make it today? No problem. It goes to the end of the month.

Friday October 18

Lake Take 1

Get the family together and head down to Boo At The Zoo over at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. There will be Trick or Treating, 4-D Movies, train rides and more from 5-9 tonight. Or you could catch comedian Dane Cook as he makes a Cleveland area stop at MGM Northfield Park. He’s had numerous HBO and Comedy Central specials and he takes the stage tonight at 8.

Lake Take 2

Grab the kids and head over to the Cleveland Botanical Garden for their Bootanical Bash. From 5:30 to 8:30 tonight, they’ll have a kids dance party, science demonstrations, games, crafts, trick or treating and more. Or go check out some of the best local art in town at the 78th street studios Third Friday Art Walk. Tour the more than 60 galleries which will open their doors from 5 to 9 tonight. 

Saturday October 19

Lake Take 1

Cleveland Beer Week begins today. Some of the inaugural events include The Pumking Prowl in downtown’s Gateway Neighborhood which starts at 4 and Oysterfest in Lakewood which starts at 10 this morning and goes all day. There’s plenty more drinking related events today and all week long. Or you can “Feel The Noize” down at the Agora Theater as 80’s metal act Quiet Riot roll into town. It’s part of our sister station WMMS’ Halloween Bash and the music gets started at 8 tonight.

Lake Take 2

Get a little culture in down at Playhouse Square and go see Carmen. Presented by The Cleveland Ballet with live flamenco guitar, it’s a classic Spanish tale of passion, romance and murder. It starts at 7 tonight. Or take the family to the IX Center’s Trick Or Treat Street. There will loads of candy stations, live entertainment, amusement park rides and more. Costumes are encouraged and the event goes from 11-7 today and tomorrow.
