Lake Take 1

Coming up this week in Cleveland, The Cavs go up against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, Walkabout Tremont is on Friday, The Monsters play Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse also on Friday and The Rubberband Dance Group is at the Ohio Theater on Saturday.

Lake Take 2

The Cavs take on the Dallas Mavericks tonight down at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Tipoff is at 7:30. Or if you’re a fan of the Francis Ford Coppola film Apocalypse Now, then get down to the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque tonight. They are showing a new restored 4K version of the film called Apocalypse Now Final Cut. It screens at 6:30.

Monday November 4

Lake Take 1

If you’re looking for some comedy tonight, head over to Great Lakes Brewing Company. Bill Squire, from our sister station WMMS, will be on hand for Craft Laughs. It’s a weekly stand-up event showcasing upcoming local comedians. It all goes down starting at 8.Or get some trivia in over at the Happy Dog’s Monday Night Trivia. They’ll dole out the headscratchers starting at 8 tonight along with a huge variety of hot dogs and craft beer.

Go see funny ladies Cat & Nat down at the Agora Theater. These two best friends will give you hilarious and very real anecdotes from the mom trenches. Their new book, Mom Truths, tell you everything no one will tell you about motherhood. They’ll be onstage tonight at 7. Or catch a movie on the cheap tonight at a participating Cleveland Cinemas Theater. They'll have $5 movie tickets and discounted concession items too.

Tuesday November 5

Lake Take 1

Cheer on the Cavs as they play the Boston Celtics tonight down at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Tipoff is at 7. Or you can check out a new musical down at Playhouse Square called The Band’s Visit. It’s a Grammy & Tony award-winning musical about how music makes us laugh, cry and ultimately brings us all together. The curtain drops at 7:30 tonightinside the Connor Palace Theater.

Lake Take 2

Grab some laughs down at Brothers Lounge on the west side for their Back Room Comedy Show. Local comedian John Armstrong will headline a whole host of Cleveland-area comics and the jokes get started at 7:30 tonight. Or make plans now to hit Walkabout Tremont. The theme this month is Light Up Your Holidays. You can check out some of the best Tremont restaurants, featured art openings, live music and more Friday night from 5-10.

Wednesday November 6

Lake Take 1

Go see the classic Tony-Winning Musical, The Music Man, down at Playhouse Square. The Great Lakes Theater production takes place down at the Hanna Theater tonight at 7:30. Or get some local entertainment over at The Happy Dog tonight with their event, Keep Talking: A Storytelling Show. This event features local people telling stories of crazy events in their lives. Sounds random? It is. Find out what it’s all about tonight starting at 7:30.

Lake Take 2

If you’re over in University Circle this evening, drop by the Cleveland Museum of Art for their Chamber Music In The Galleries event. It features mixed programs of chamber music and it’s free starting at 6. Or grab some laughs over at Hilarities as comic Erica Rhodes makes a stop through Cleveland. She’s been on Modern Family, HBO’s show Veep and has had stand-up stints on Last Call with Carson Daly, NBC’s Bring The Funny and many other shows. She’ll hit the stage tonight starting at 7 with another show on Sunday same time. 

Thursday November 7

Lake Take 1

Head down to Severance Hall tonight to hear The Cleveland Orchestra perform Beethoven’s Eroica. There will be a pre-concert discussion at 6:30 with the performance starting at 7:30. Or get some laughs in tonight down at Hilarities with comedian Tom Papa. He’s had 20 years of experience doing stand-up along with a weekly podcast called “Come To Papa. He’ll be onstage tonight at 7 with performances through the weekend.

Lake Take 2

Head over to Music Box Supper Club for a Talking Heads Tribute by Start Making Sense. They will be running through the band’s extensive catalog starting at 7:30 tonight. Or go to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame to see their Woodstock At 50 exhibit. Check out memorabilia from that landmark music festival today from 10 to 5:30. Can’t make it today? You have till the end of the year to attend.

Friday November 8

Lake Take 1

The Cleveland Monsters will be playing down at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse tonight at 7 against Laval Rocket. It’s also 1-2-3 Friday with $1 Pepsi products, $2 Sugardale hot dogs and $3 select beer specials. Or get out to MGM Northfield Park and go see former American Idol contestant Daughtry. The music starts at 8 tonight.

Do something a little different tonight and go see Marlee Who? Take Two. It’s a cabaret show featuring lots of Jazz, jokes and apparently tequila as well. There’s two shows: tonight and tomorrow night and they are both at 7. Or go to Walkabout Tremont. The theme this month is Light Up Your Holidays. Saturday November 9

Lake Take 1

Head down to Playhouse Square tonight to see The Rubberband Dance Group. This innovative dance troupe mixes urban dance styles with classical Ballet and more. It’s their debut Ohio appearance and the curtain drops at 7:30 tonight inside the Mimi Ohio Theater. And there’s limited tickets left to go see Bob Dylan tonight down at E. J. Thomas Hall in Akron. He’ll be onstage tonight at 8.

Go see comic Marlon Wayans down at MGM Northfield. He’s been doing the circuit since the late 1980’s and has been seen in Scary Movie along with his own sitcom, along with his brother Shawn, called The Wayans Brothers. He’ll be onstage tonight at 8. Or you can check out a new musical down at Playhouse Square called The Band’s Visit.
