Coming up this week in Cleveland, The Cavs take on the Houston Rockets down at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Wednesday, a stage performance of The Nutcracker is at The Hanna Theater on Thursday, The Cleveland Orchestra Christmas Concert is on Friday and Wintertide at Gordon Square is on Saturday.

Get in the Holiday spirit today with a visit to University Circle for their 26th Annual Holiday Circlefest. From 1 to 7 today, Wade Oval will come to life with ice carving demonstrations, live music, photos with santa, plenty of food, shopping and more. Or you can get some laughs in tonight over at Hilarities with comic Gary Gulman. The Boston native has long been open about his struggles with anxiety and depression and he incorporates both into his act starting tonight at 7.

Monday December 9

Lake Take 1

Head over to Nighttown on the east side to see The Baldwin Wallace Music Theater Class of 2021 perform excerpts from musicals past and present. The performance starts at 7 tonight. Or if you want something a little bit educational, go to the Science Café over at the Music Box Supper Club. It’s an informal lecture series featuring regional scientists and it all gets started at 7. 

Lake Take 2

Go catch a movie on the cheap tonight at a participating Cleveland Cinemas Theater. They'll have $5 movie tickets and discounted concession items too. Or make your Thursday plans now to see a stage production of A Christmas Carol put on by The Great Lakes Theater. Charles Dickens’ classic tale of one man’s ultimate redemption takes place starting this Thursday night at 7:30 inside the Mimi Ohio Theater at Playhouse Square.

Tuesday December 10

Head down to Akron for a Honky-Tonk twist on the Holidays with The 11th Annual Ryan Humbert Holiday Extravaganza. The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank will be on hand to collect non-perishable donations while you enjoy a mix of traditional Americana and Holiday music. It all starts at 7:30 tonight inside the Akron Civic Theater. Or make your Saturday plans to hit Wintertide at Gordon Square. This free festival features local art, kids activities, live music, a beer garden and more. It happens from 2 to 6 down in Gordon Square.

Lake Take 2

Catch a new stage production of Mean Girls down at Playhouse Square. It’s a musical adaptation based on the movie of the same name. It starts at 7:30 tonight down at the Connor Palace Theater. Or go check out The Cleveland Museum Of Art’s newest exhibit, “Michelangelo: Mind Of The Master”. Over two dozen of the legendary artist’s rarely-seen sketches will be on display today from 10 to 5 and 10 to 9 tomorrow.

Wednesday December 11

Lake Take 1

Go support our Cavs down at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse tonight as they go up against the Houston Rockets. Tipoff is at 7. Or go see comic Josh Sneed down at Hilarities. The Ohio-native quit his comfy job at Proctor & Gamble to become a stand-up comic and his humor draws from everyday life experiences. He’ll take the stage at 7 tonight.

Lake Take 2

Get in the Holiday spirit down at the Great Lakes Brewing Company. They will be screening A Christmas Story tonight at 7 and each ticket includes a complimentary pint along with snacks from their bar. Or make your weekend plans now to hit the Cleveland Bazaar Holiday down at 78th Street Studios. This will be a shopping extravaganza with loads of local vendors selling all sorts of handmade goods from 10-6 this Saturday.

Thursday December 12

Lake Take 1

Go hear The Cleveland Orchestra tonight down at Severance Hall as they perform the score to the Holiday classic “It’s A Wonderful Life”. They’ll perform the score while the movie shows on the big screen and it all goes down at 7:30 tonight. Or go catch comic Brian Regan as he rolls into town at the Masonic Auditorium tonight. He’s one of the few clean comics out there and uses lots of sarcasm and physical humor into his act. He goes onstage tonight at 7:30.

Lake Take 2

No Holiday season is complete without The Nutcracker and you can see it tonight down at the Hanna Theater as the Cleveland Ballet brings the classic story to life. It starts at 7 tonight with performances through this Sunday. Or head to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo for their Wild Winter Lights Festival. Starting tonight, there will be thousands of lights, an extremely tall teddy bear, a visit from santa and more. It goes from 5:30 - 9:30.

Friday December 13

Lake Take 1

Celebrate the Holidays in grand style tonight down at Severance Hall with The Cleveland Orchestra’s Christmas Concert. They’ll team up with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus for a night of Holiday music and sing-alongs for the whole family. It starts at 7:30 tonight. Or go to Walkabout Tremont. The theme this month is Light Up Your Holidays. You can check out some of the best Tremont restaurants, featured art openings, live music and more tonight from 5-10.

Go see the Monsters tonight as they hit the ice down at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. It’s also 1-2-3 Friday with $1 Pepsi products, $2 Sugardale hot dogs and $3 select beer specials. The puck drops at 7. Or go see The Hip-Hop Nutcracker down at Playhouse Square. It’s a modern take on the classic Holiday tale with dancers, a DJ, string musicians and even one of Hip-Hop’s founding fathers, Kurtis Blow, on hand. It starts tonight at 8 inside The KeyBank State Theater.

Saturday December 14

Lake Take 1

Go see Cleveland-native pianist Jim Brickman as he performs a special Holiday Concert tonight at Playhouse Square. His concert, dubbed “A Christmas Celebration” will span music from all through his career in addition to Holiday favorites. It starts at 8 tonight. Or go see a live stage production of the classic film A Christmas Story put on by the Cleveland Play House. This family-friendly show will feature all the things you love about the movie an there’s two shows today: one at 2:30 and the other at 7:30 inside the Allen Theater.
