Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen is opening up for the first time about being attacked by a stranger in March.
During an interview on Good Morning America Allen described the moment saying he saw a "dark flash" and the next thing he knew he was on the ground.
He says he landed on his backside then his head hit the pavement then told his attacker that he wasn't a threat to him.
Allen added that he immediately felt grateful for the fact that he has an amazing family and that he's still here.
According to Fort Lauderdale police, a 19-year-old man ran at Allen at full speed, knocking him down.
The suspect was later arrested and charged with several crimes including one count of abusing an elderly or disabled adult.
